Description:This course builds on introductory project management skills to form a solid grounding in the nine project management knowledge areas and five process groups as detailed by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). Topics include the following: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing, integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, human resource management, communication management, risk management, and procurement management. Cost, scope, quality, and procurement receive special emphasis in this course. Students will align topics to attain project objectives within resource constraints. The course is relevant to any project management field

Course Objectives

Students completing this course will be able to: Relate the processes that lead to successful project outcomes and support the PMBOK. Relate the nine managerial knowledge areas that enable the proper execution of project management as defined by the PMBOK. Evaluate the use and delivery options of the five project processes. Select and evaluate the managerial options and project frameworks that promote project progress to objectives for different scenarios. Synthesize optimal courses of action based on general options with special emphasis on risk, cost, scope, quality, and procurement to achieve objectives within planned resource allocations. Understand and apply Project Management software from the managerial perspective.
