The course covers the financial planning process and strategies for successful financial well being. Topics covered include money management; consumer credit; real estate as an investment; insurance and risk management; investment in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds; retirement and pension planning; and estate planning.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: Keep financial records Plan spending for major purchases Perform simple tax planning Advise on issues of consumer credit Differentiate among insurance options Decide upon appropriate investments in the stock market, the bond market, mutual funds and other financial instruments.
