Description:This second semester field experience is offered to give first year students an opportunity to spend a minimum of 15 hours in a classroom observing teaching strategies and student behaviors. Upon completion of the fifteen hours, students are required to write a paper focusing on the application of educational theory to teaching and learning.

ED122 with minimum grade of C, ED128 and minimum cumulative gpa of 2.5

Course Objectives

Become familiar with the background and skills necessary for success in the field of education
"Gain experience in the complex skills of curriculum planning, instruction, and assessment.
Understand how to design instructional units and establish an atmosphere to complement students' intellectual and personal development
Understand the organization and management of a classroom
Gain confidence in her/his ability to be a successful educator.
Qualify for Maine teaching certification.
