Identify and articulate individual rights related to the criminal justice system; Understand generally how these rights have been established; Understand generally how these rights are enforced, violated, and interpreted; Understand the relationship of these rights to the responsibilities and powers of criminal justice practitioners; Develop an understanding of the balance between individual rights and the public welfare.
