Description:Advanced survey of psychological research methodology with emphasis on experimental design, computer-assisted statistical analysis, and writing APA style empirical reports. The course will focus on experimental designs with multiple independent variables. Laboratory experiences are an integral part of this course.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course students will be capable of: 1. organizing, scheduling and carrying out scientific research in psychology with minimal supervision. 2. organizing data through use of descriptive statistics and graphical displays to aid in the understanding of sample data. 3. employing the principles of probability to estimate the likelihood of events/outcomes. 4. selecting and using appropriate inferential statistics to make data-driven decisions. 5. appropriately reporting an experiment and its results through a written empirical report and a research presentation.
