Description:Student teaching provides experience in an early childhood teaching environment. Under the direct supervision of a supervising teacher, student teachers will become responsible for planning and teaching appropriate lessons, designing and implementing assessment and evaluation tools, and assuming all the responsibilities of an early childhood teacher. A Thomas College supervisor will observe the student in the teaching environment and take part in the evaluation of the student teacher’s performance. Prerequisites: completion of all required early childhood education courses, successful completion of the required Praxis exams, and a minimum gpa of 2.5. Senior Seminar will be taken concurrently.
