Students will study a variety of operating systems to underscore these principles.

Understand the functions and types of operating systems
Understand operating system hardware requirements
Understand operating system input-output requirements
Be able to describe the basic features of several operating systems.
Be able to install and upgrade operating systems
Be able to describe network operating system and their special feature requirements
Be able to perform standard operating and maintenance procedures
