Course Objectives

Identify types and uses of records maintained by a law enforcement agency
Define modus operandi
Discuss the use of modus operand
Identify types of intelligence information which should be gathered on suspected offenders
Identify the need to use public media during the course of certain investigations.
Identify four investigative actions which will assist the officer in identifying an offender.
Identify the responsibilities of the investigator after the offender has been identified and the elements of the offense have been established.
Identify the methods for establishing the element of intent other than obtaining a confession from a subject.
