Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations

The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing strategies to secure corporate and foundation support for Thomas College. S/he identifies, researches, and evaluates funding prospects; generates proposals and supporting documents, including financial reports; maintains a schedule of and fulfills grant stewardship requirements by working with other departments to ensure that grant funds are spent, accounted for, and reported on accurately and on time. S/he works with development staff and lead volunteers to establish relationships with potential and existing funders, and to cultivate, solicit, and steward those individuals to advance the College's strategic goals and vision.

In addition, the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations plays a significant role in soliciting and securing corporate sponsorships from vendors and local and regional businesses and organizations for College events including the annual golf tournament and Homecoming Weekend. S/he identifies corporate prospects; develops corporate recognition opportunities; works within the development team to build and implement solicitation strategies; and oversees corporate stewardship. S/he participates in additional fundraising projects as necessary. This individual must possess excellent writing and editing skills for building proposals, and will assist significantly with the production of key Thomas publications including The Thomas Magazine, Annual Report, and other communiques. S/he also participates in the planning and execution of key campus events, including Homecoming Weekend and other alumni engagement events.

Four-year college degree required. Additional requirements include: three to five years of previous development experience with demonstrated success in grant writing, corporate fundraising, and stewardship required; knowledge of fundraising best practices and job functions is essential. Raiser's Edge or similar database experience and efficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred.
